A Fleur De Lis Tummy Tuck is an advanced form of a standard Tummy Tuck procedure. It involves an additional vertical incision, allowing for the removal of excess skin and tissue not only from the lower abdomen but also from the midline, resulting in a more comprehensive contouring of the abdominal area.

A Fleur De Lis Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty) is an extended version of a standard Tummy Tuck. It’s suitable for individuals who have lost a massive amount of weight and have significant excess skin, both up and down and side to side, along the lower abdominal wall.
During surgery, to remove the excess skin, the surgeon creates an extra incision. While a standard Tummy Tuck has a horizontal scar that sits along the bikini line, a Fleur De Lis Tummy Tuck has an additional incision made along the entire midline of the tummy up to the lower chest. This enables excess skin to be removed along the sides, helping to bring in the waistline and tighten the tummy wall both vertically and horizontally.
A Fleur De Lis Tummy Tuck is performed in a private hospital under general anaesthesia. The procedure typically takes between three and five hours.
Suitable candidates for this procedure have experienced extreme weight loss and have an amount of excess skin that cannot be removed by a standard Tummy Tuck alone. When the amount of their excess skin extends beyond their abdominal wall and the sides, they often require an additional incision along the midline to ‘pull the sides in’.
All candidates must have maintained a stable weight for 12 months before undergoing surgery. Additionally, they should be in good mental and physical health and have realistic expectations regarding their surgical outcomes.
