Breast Augmentation Revision surgery involves correcting or modifying previous augmentation surgery. This can include adjusting or replacing breast implants, changing the shape of the breasts or addressing complications such as capsular contracture. Sometimes, revision surgery is required soon after the initial surgery. At other times, years may have passed before the patient develops complications or becomes unhappy with the results of their surgery and requests revision surgery.
Breast Revision surgery is performed in a private hospital under general anaesthesia. Suitable candidates for Breast Revision surgery must be in good mental and physical health and have realistic expectations regarding their surgical outcomes.

Generally, we advise patients to wait six months before considering further surgery. This is because your breast tissue needs time to adjust to the presence of a breast implant. During your six-month post-operative appointment, your surgeon will examine, discuss and critically review your results. You’ll also have the opportunity to enquire about further surgery.
Breast Revision surgery may involve breast implants, breast lifts, breast reductions, breast implant capsulotomy, fat transfers and other procedures.
Not necessarily. It depends on the type of revision surgery you are having. For example, if an implant has ruptured, a new implant will be placed. However, if an implant has slightly moved, then no new implant replacement will be required.
A Breast Revision is not one singular surgical procedure. It can involve adjusting or replacing breast implants, changing the shape of the breasts or addressing complications such as capsular contracture. In some instances, a Breast Lift may be required as part of a Breast Revision. However, this is a matter that you should discuss with your surgeon to determine if it is suitable for you.
In the majority of Breast Revision surgeries, scars do not get worse. In fact, some scars may improve. At Bella Plastic Surgery, we also take measures to promote optimal scar healing, including LED light therapy.
Breast Revision surgery is more complicated than your initial surgery due to factors such as tissue changes, scar tissue and complications from the first surgery.
The ability to breastfeed after your surgery depends on the type of Breast Revision surgery you’ve had. Breast Augmentation Revision surgery typically does not interfere with the breast tissue and should not necessarily prevent breastfeeding. However, if you are having a Breast Lift or reduction as part of your revision surgery, there may be a reduced potential to breastfeed, as there is a possibility that some of the milk ducts may be damaged
